Following a sold-out debut, Savage Wonder is doubling down on laughs, legacy, and live performance. From June 27–29, the arts center will once again crack open its cellar doors for Comedy Weekend, a three-night series of stand-up sets featuring some of NYC’s sharpest comedic voices.

Eric Tucker, Artistic Director of Bedlam Theatre and twotime Wall Street Journal "Director of the Year" (2014, 2021), will direct Savage Wonder Art Center’s upcoming “unhinged and wildly staged” reading of Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest with a three-person cast. Reimagined through the anarchic lens of Savage Wonder’s signature style, the production will take place in Savage Wonder’s Parlor inside the newly opened Savage Wonderground, a subterranean art space located beneath Beacon’s Main Street, offering audiences an evening of professional theater that’s immersive, irreverent, and joyfully chaotic.

The Thomas Poole and Charles Scott Griesa Center Foundation (dba Savage Wonder Art Center) – is proud to announce it has been awarded a $460,000 grant from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA). This transformational funding will support the development of a professional mainstage theater inside the historic Mechanic Savings Bank on Main Street in downtown Beacon, NY.

Savage Wonder, the newly rebranded veteran-led performing arts center formerly known as VetRep, is proud to announce the launch of its inaugural theater season in Beacon, NY. Savage Wonder’s popular staged reading series begins May 9th, marking the opening of Savage Wonderground—a 6,000-square-foot art gallery and wine bar. The readings will take place in The Parlor, an intimate, living room-style 35-seat performance space in the heart of the Hudson Valley.
