Film, Poetry, and Conversation: Exploring Mental Health
Beacon Litfest and Litworks invite you to an evening of film, poetry, and dialogue focused on the realities of severe mental illness.
The program features a screening of Dear Shop Girl by award-winning New York filmmaker Nira Burstein, readings by three-time national slam champion and confessional poet Nina Robins, and insights from psychiatrist Dr. Galen Ballentine, who combines traditional and nontraditional approaches to care.
Special guests will also join the discussion. Moderated by Dr. Hannah Brooks, the event fosters open, empathetic conversation and encourages audience participation in a safe and supportive space.
